6th Annual Writing Contest Winners Announced!
June 13, 2005 - Participants from Oregon and New Jersey took the top three prizes in this years competition! A student in Mr. R. Horton's class from the Chapman School in Oregon takes 1st place. Second and third prizes go to two students from Ms. C. Sior's class at the Sussex County Charter School for Technology. CONGRATULATIONS! The instructions were: Write a 300-500 word essay about the challenges of the particular species you are tracking this spring! Extra consideration will be given to the student if she/he relates the challenges of the animal to their own or other people's experiences, or how the writer feels about the challenges that their animal faces. Challenges might be environmental or about the habitat or other difficulties, which may require research. Good luck. Prizes include custom, hand-painted bald eagle mouse pads, NASA luggage totes, Winged Migration videos, or gift certificates.
